CTIDR Receives Wellcome Trust Career Development Award
A major milestone as CTIDR secures funding to advance research on disease vectors and pathogen genomics across sub-Saharan Africa.
CTIDR carries out excellent primary and translational research on tropical and infectious diseases, promoting health and well-being across sub-Saharan Africa and beyond.
Who We Are
The Centrum for Tropical and Infectious Diseases Research (CTIDR) domiciled in Kano is a not-for-profit research centre dedicated to promoting health and wellbeing in Nigeria, sub-Saharan Africa and beyond, through primary and translational scientific research.
We engage in research on infectious and tropical diseases, including malaria, neglected infections and their vectors, working hand in hand with policy and decision makers from the Nigerian Ministry of Health, universities and other research institutes in Nigeria and internationally.
Our Focus Areas
Five interconnected research clusters driving innovation in tropical and infectious disease research across sub-Saharan Africa.
Investigating the biology, genetics, and ecology of vectors responsible for transmitting tropical diseases.
